RAEGAN Finds Power In Vulnerability On CRYING IS A GIRLS BEST FRIEND

RAEGAN doesn’t treat heartbreak as a quiet collapse. On CRYING IS A GIRL’S BEST FRIEND, she gives it sweeping vocals, theatrical drama and enough glitter to turn emotional fallout into an act of self-devotion.

The single sits at the centre of her upcoming RAEGAN CORE EP — a world built for outsiders, theatre kids, and anyone who has ever been told to make themselves smaller.

Musical-theatre scale meets intimate pop writing, with vulnerability becoming part of the spectacle rather than something hidden behind it.

In this FM PRO Quickfire 5, RAEGAN discusses her Princess Jasmine-inspired vision, building a safe community through music and using production to set the stage without losing the honesty underneath.

To me, the lyrics create intimacy while the production sets the stage.

Q1.CRYING IS A GIRL’S BEST FRIENDturns heartbreak into empowerment. What unlocked that shift?

I always try to turn my negative emotions into something positive through music. I often find that I find confidence and empowerment through my music so if I always try to heal through writing.

Q2.You call it your “Disney princess moment.” What scene did you imagine?

Actually, when I wrote this, I had the vision of princess Jasmine sitting outside her castle.

Q3.What do you want outsiders and theatre kids to feel throughRAEGAN CORE?

Accepted and empowered. I want people to feel confident in their identity and safe within this community.

Q4.What usually comes first: the song, character, or visual world?

I would say they all coexist at once. I try to think cohesively when writing music.

Q5. FM PRO TECH Q:How did production and vocal layering create theatrical scale without losing intimacy?

To me, the lyrics create intimacy while the production sets the stage.
