Inspired by 1970s Quiet Storm radio and Roland Barthes’ A Lover’s Discourse, Dani’s forthcoming debut began as a collection of diary entries and musical improvisations. Recorded entirely analogue and sample free, the album pairs lush, jazz influenced instrumentation with deeply personal perspectives on love, bringing together Dani’s retro influences and contemporary R&B sensibilities.
Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Dani is a songwriter, producer and multi instrumentalist who has already earned support from The FADER and NPR, while opening for the likes of Venna, Madison McFerrin, Braxton Cook, Kiefer and Luke Titus. Following the release of Lover’s Discourse, she will embark on her first solo headline tour across the US and UK.
