Iron & Wine aka Sam Beam has announced the release of Hen’s Teeth (Deluxe Edition) due out 22nd September from Sub Pop. This expanded edition features six new recordings in total: four previously unreleased songs along with acoustic versions of two fan favourites from Hen’s Teeth (see the full tracklist below). The album was released in February of this year to fairly wide acclaim and featured two duets with the multi-Grammy-winning band I’m With Her.
The four unreleased songs come from sessions done in Los Angeles during the recording of sibling records Light Verse and Hen’s Teeth. California Sober, which you can listen to below, was the last song written and recorded during the sessions, and its playful nature, hinted at in the title, is, we would say the perfect way to wind down summer while easing into autumn (as the cheerful August rain relentlessly batters down in the UK we are well on the way).
