Sondela Recordings welcomes MSHU to the label with ‘Holding On’, a new collaboration bringing together the German producer, returning Sondela favourite 40D and acclaimed UK vocalist Zoe Kypri. Out Friday 28 August 2026, ‘Holding On’ marks the Sondela debut for MSHU and introduces Zoe Kypri to the label, while continuing 40D’s relationship with Sondela following his previous appearances on the imprint.
Written from a place of intuition and self-preservation, ‘Holding On’ explores the blurred space between dreams and reality, and the instinct to trust your inner voice. Zoe’s deeply personal songwriting sits at the heart of the record, bringing an emotional weight to MSHU’s & 40D’s production.
For MSHU, the release marks another step in a renewed creative chapter. Raised in Poland and later based in Germany, his production style is shaped by percussion-heavy grooves, analogue warmth and a deep-rooted appreciation for classic techno and house. Following collaborations with Ben Westbeech, Lazarusman and Roland Clark, his latest direction leans into tribal-infused percussion, analogue warmth and meticulous production, with rhythm at its core.
Joining him is 40D, the Mozambique-born producer and DJ whose sound moves between Afro House, Deep House, Techno, Disco and the traditional Mozambican genre Marrabenta. Drawing on this diverse musical palette, he has carved out a distinctive position within the African electronic music scene, including securing the #1 Best Dance Song position on South Africa’s Metro FM.
For Zoe Kypri, the East Londoner vocalist, songwriter & DJ brings her unmistakable voice and deeply personal songwriting to her Sondela Recordings debut. With performances spanning two sold-out Ronnie Scott’s shows, Glastonbury, Royal Albert Hall & more, alongside collaborations with Made By Pete, Franky Wah and Damian Lazarus, Zoe adds a rich, soulful dimension to ‘Holding On’, exploring themes of intuition, trust and the space between dreams and reality.
