Heres how to get involved in Metal For Goods Metal Merch Day

The lovely folk at Metal For Good are putting on their annual Metal Merch Day fundraiser next weekend, and it couldn’t be easier to get involved.

It’s taking place next Friday (October 23) and all you have to do, whether you’re going into school, work, the gym or are on the sofa with your feet up all day, is slap on some merch. Any band, any subgenre, your freshest threads or one the moths have got to – anything goes. You’ve probably got some, but if you’re in need of something new to wear, Kerrang!’s merch store will have a discount applied all day.

The only other steps are to make a donation to Metal For Good, and they recommend giving £5 if you’re able, and to share a photo under the hashtag #MMD26 and the tag @metalforgood.

There are also some merch collabs to buy, in partnership with Theory of a Deadman and Funeral For A Friend, as well as some exclusive Metal Merch Day 2026 shirts.

“Metal Merch Day is a great idea, and the work Metal For Good are doing with music and community organisations is something we’re really proud to get behind.” says FFAF’s Ryan Richards “Funeral For A Friend have always been a band built on community, so doing a shirt with them felt like a natural fit. We hope people wear it loud and give what they can.”

Metal For Good funds projects in the community that use music to improve people’s lives, having previously helped to fund Gloucestershire-based music studio The Music Works, mental health organisation Heads Above The Waves and Gig Buddies, where volunteers accompany autistic and learning disabled people to gigs.

They’re also hosting a fundraiser on October 24 in Nottingham with a pop-up Halloween beer festival, vintage stalls, DJ sets from Heavy Metal Hairdresser, a raffle and more.
