Carl Cox delivers a powerful new remix of Vikthor & Pianoalani’s ‘Legacy’, released 4 September via his own, now legendary label – Intec.
Closely connected with the sunrise moments of Carl’s [UNVRS] Ibiza residency, “Legacy” already carried a distinctive emotional identity before reaching Carl’s studio. Rather than replacing that character, his new remix expands it into a 130 BPM journey spanning melodic techno, progressive house and trance transporting you right back to those life-affirming Ibizan sunrises.
“The original already had a feeling that people connected with, particularly in those sunrise moments,” says Carl. “The challenge was keeping that emotion while giving the record enough power and movement to work in my own sets. It naturally ended up somewhere between melodic techno, progressive house and trance.”
Building patiently around the original’s central melodic idea, the remix introduces rising tension and a larger-scale arrangement designed for both expansive Ibiza moments and peak-time club systems.
