Junction 2’s decision to spread its 10th anniversary celebrations across different dates worked well, with the 25th July J2 x fabric edition feeling both impressive in scale and surprisingly intimate. Despite the huge production, the crowd retained a niche, underground feel that suited the fabric collaboration perfectly.
The Woods delivered a unique festival atmosphere, with the setting among the trees adding something genuinely special. Gabrielle Kwarteng b2b Peach were a standout, particularly as the sun began to set through the trees. Their set felt almost magical, weaving in UK influences throughout while maintaining the energy and unpredictability of the day.
Over at The Bridge, the programming flowed seamlessly from one set to the next, creating a natural progression across the day. With artists including Nicolas Lutz and Francesco Del Garda, the stage gradually became more immersive as the crowds built.
What stood out most was how easily Junction 2 made you forget you were in London. Whether immersed among the trees in The Woods or underneath the M4 flyover at The Bridge, the environment felt completely removed from the city around it.
The smaller stage also had a strong sense of community, really coming alive later in the day for Tapefeed. It felt packed, energetic and distinctly connected to the underground spirit running through the festival.
The event was exceptionally well organised, while its approach to environmental responsibility was also noticeable and reassuring. Ultimately, J2 x fabric managed to combine the scale of a major festival with the intimacy and character of a club-focused event, making it a fitting celebration of Junction 2’s roots.
