In a culture of electronic music composed and played on machines, it’s easy to forget that rhythm is an eternal, elemental force, pulsing and resonating all around us in nature. ‘Biorhythm’, the stunning new audio visual experience from Miss Monique, has been created to connect us to that unseen power.
A labour of love designed over the course of a year, today Miss Monique announces ‘Biorhythm’ at her biggest solo show to date, in Buenos Aires’ breathtaking Mandarine Park on October 3.
Monique’s vision is brought to life by a mix of real-time generative industrial graphics and the use of more living, organic elements which adds another layer of depth and meaning to Miss Monique’s DJ performance. In the mesmerising ecological landscape of Biorhythm, the stage is enveloped in a world of nature and its unseen but powerful actors, contrasted with iconic concrete and brutalist architecture.
It’s a reflection of Miss Monique’s mission: to use her platform to bring context, connection and optimism back to dancefloors that are too often full of empty and disposable spectacle – and strip back the layers of automation and artifice that isolate us from each other and the world.
As Miss Monique says: “The world around us becomes more industrial every day – filled with metal, concrete, technology, endless movement, and noise. I hope that Biorhythm shows that even inside this reality, nature never disappears. For every robot-driven car on our streets, nature still finds its way through structures, through light, through air, through us. It gives us hope for our future, and for generations to come.”
The show reflects organic movement and industrial forms existing together, not in conflict but in balance, as part of one shared rhythm. A reminder that even within machines, systems, and modern cities, there is still something deeply human and deeply alive; and that beneath the surface of earth and ocean, an eternal, ever evolving rhythm pulses just out of sight. All in hypnotic harmony with the powerful and emotionally resonant DJing that has taken Miss Monique to global stardom in such a short time.
The waterfront location of Mandarine Park is the ideal setting – especially considering Miss Monique’s huge and passionate following in the city, where she has a history of sold out shows. Building on her showstopping performances at Mandarine for Ultra Buenos Aires, this solo show is a statement of her evolution as an artist, her values as a human being, and her mission to connect us through music and shared experience.
