Little Simz – Sugar Girl (EP)

Little Simz has dropped a brand new four track EP, Sugar Girl, out now via AWAL. The project sees Simz teaming up with JT, DEELA and 070 Shake across a bold, club driven collection that feels both experimental and immediate.

Following last year’s Drop 7, Sugar Girl continues Simz’s love for concise, high impact releases. Reuniting with producer Jakwob, the EP leans into energetic production inspired by the DJ culture and live sets that have shaped her recent performances, while still carrying the sharp lyricism she’s known for.

Lead track “Game On” first premiered during Simz’s Coachella set, with JT making a surprise appearance on stage, a moment that quickly became one of the festival’s standout highlights.

Alongside the music, the Sugar Girl rollout has also spotlighted a range of female creatives, including jeweller Maya Mayhall, woodworker Sophie Sellu, sculptor Dulcie Davy and designer Olive Hooper.

The release arrives ahead of a packed summer festival run, including appearances at Primavera Sound, Roskilde Festival and Lollapalooza Chicago.

Over the past few years, Simz has cemented herself as one of the UK’s most compelling artists, from her Mercury Prize winning album Sometimes I Might Be Introvert to acclaimed performances at Glastonbury Festival and roles on Top Boy. Her latest album, Lotus, continued that momentum, earning BRIT, MOBO and Ivor Novello nominations while debuting at No. 3 in the UK charts.
