Marie Dahlstromhas announced her third studio album, MARIE, due for release on 18 September via her own label, JFH Records. Alongside the announcement, the Danish born, London based singer, songwriter and producer has shared new single ‘1 Journey Away‘.

The track showcases a deeper exploration of Dahlstrom’s jazz influences, pairing intricate rhythms with her trademark soulful vocals. Featuring an expressive scat section, production from Butcher Brown’s Corey Fonville, Cuban percussionist Eliel Lazo and a synth contribution from Elijah Fox, the song highlights the rich musicality that runs throughout the upcoming record.

Speaking about the single, Dahlstrom explains that ‘1 Journey Away’ reflects the experience of having family spread across different countries and the desire for a slower, more connected way of life.

The new track follows previous album singles ‘Alive‘ featuring Jords and ‘Frostbite‘, offering another glimpse into MARIE, a project written across London, Copenhagen and Los Angeles over the past two years. Blending neo-soul, jazz and live instrumentation, the album sees Dahlstrom embracing a freer, more expressive sound while maintaining the emotional honesty that has become her hallmark.

Over the past decade, Dahlstrom has built a loyal following through acclaimed releases including Like Sand and A Good Life, earning support from outlets such as Billboard, NPR, COLORS and BBC 1Xtra, alongside collaborations with artists including Odeal, Jay Prince, Kofi Stone and Braxton Cook.

To celebrate the album’s release, Dahlstrom will return to the stage with headline shows in London on 8 October and Copenhagen on 13 October.
