Irish rap continues to gather momentum, with artists across the island pushing boundaries and building a scene that feels more connected and confident than ever. Belfast producer Eulogy’s new album Melancholia arrives as a snapshot of that growth.
His most ambitious project to date, Melancholia brings together a strong cast of collaborators, including Curtisy, Leo Miyagee, MajinMajin and Rossi. Rather than simply showcasing individual talent, the album highlights the creative links forming across Ireland’s rap landscape.
Eulogy has become an important figure within Northern Ireland’s underground scene, known for his prolific output and collaborative approach. While much of the recent attention has focused on artists from the South, Melancholia underlines the strength and evolution of rap in the North.
Musically, the album refuses to stay in one lane. Alternative rap, drill, drum & bass and experimental trap influences all find a place here, creating a project that feels varied without losing cohesion. That versatility reflects a scene increasingly comfortable exploring new sounds.
One of the album’s standout moments is lead single “Loose Leaf Tea“, which pairs Curtisy and Leo Miyagee. The collaboration feels symbolic of a wider movement, bringing together two of Ireland’s most exciting voices and reinforcing the growing connections across the country’s rap community.
More than just Eulogy’s strongest body of work so far, Melancholia feels like a marker of where Irish rap is heading next. The scene is no longer emerging, it’s established, evolving rapidly and demanding wider attention.

Eulogy sat down with Wordplay Magazine to answer our infamous 10 Questions:
1. So tell me, how did it all begin? What sparked your love for music?
It definitely started with my parents. They’re not musicians but die hard music fans. They’ve been to endless gigs over the years and the music I grew up listening ranges from Santana to The Clash, from Miles Davis to Craig David. From early, I saw music as a diverse world of sounds that I wanted to explore.
2. Who are some artists that influence you and that you want to work with in the future?
In terms of production, I have long been influenced by Clams Casino. His ambient sounds and melancholic vibes have always spoke to me. I’d absolutely love to sit with him in a studio and jam one day. In terms of artists, there’s too many to choose. If I had to pick one it would probably be Freddie Gibbs. I’d love to see what ways I could bring our worlds together. He is top tier.
3.What projects do you have coming up and can you give us any info on them?
First off, I have my debut project coming soon this summer. More details will be announced very soon but I have another single dropping pretty soon featuring MajinSYG. It’s going to be one for the sound systems. Aside from that, I have a new joint EP with Leo Miyagee to follow up Vein of Folly a year and a half ago. We’re still working out the title. On top of that I’m very close to completing a secret project with one of Belfast’s most legendary rappers and one of its toughest up and coming producers. That one is going to go off too.
4. How would you describe your sound?
I would describe my sound as ambient, nostalgic and dreamlike sounds juxtaposed with gritty and hard drums. Think JRPG pause menu with 808s!
5. What’s your proudest moment to date so far as an artist?
I have to say there’s been so many. Helping other local artists reach career milestones like getting radio play and festival slots has been amazing. Being nominated and attending the Youth Music Awards with Leo was also incredible.
