This Halloween, Miami Fox Streaming brings you Felix Motel, starring cartoonland’s original sexpot Betty Boop (1930) and Felix the Cat (1931).

Felix Motel is a quasimodo remake of The Cobweb Hotel, with a heavy influence from the 1960 classic, Psycho. The Cobweb Hotel is an 1936 animated short film directed by Dave Fleischer and produced by Fleischer Studios. Animated by David Tendlar and William Sturm, The Cobweb Hotel setting is said to be one of Fleischer’s desks, which the spider used to open the hoax hotel.

Felix Motel, however, will be set in a Bates Motel inspired location and will feature cameos from various public domain characters that include Tweety Pie, Popeye, Lois Lane, Clark Kent and Dick Tracy, to name just a few.

Kim Thomas, the writer, said of the project, “It’s been fun writing for such iconic characters that everyone loves,” adding, “I doubt people will expect some of the horrific treats we have in store for them.”

Bryn Curt James Hammond (director) added, “we are so happy with the results we are now planning a Christmas special, which will pay homage to all of the classic festive horrors from Christmas Evil to Black Christmas. It’s going to be a riot.”

Miami Fox Streaming added “Felix Motel will be our x-rated version to the CBS special It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. The film will be available until the end of November on the platform, then it will be archived until next witching season.”

    The horror of Felix Motel

“If it does as well as we hope, we will certainly do a sequel – Felix Motel 2: The Return of Felix the Cat.”

Felix Hotel will not only pay homage to Psycho, but will have unsubtle nods to Scream, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween and American Psycho.

Set around the festive season of All Hallows’ Eve, Betty will check into Felix’s run-down motel, only to discover all is not what it seems.

The film will be released exclusively on Miami Fox Streaming this Halloween, 31st October, 9pm worldwide.
