MACHiNE does not ease into its subject. It locks into a cycle of riffs, fractured rhythms, and industrial pressure designed to mirror a mind losing control of its own impulses.
The new single from Los Angeles metal project Grihastha is built around the point where desire stops feeling like a choice and starts operating like code.

Created by Grammy-nominated producer and multi-instrumentalist Nikhil Suresh, the track explores the moment conscious thought is overridden by automatic behaviour. Suresh explains:
It’s about how desire bypasses conscious thought and takes over as an automated program…It’s about the moment of conflict that occurs when desire for something arises, but conflicts with a different thought process or desire.

The production evolved from a simple riff into a dense collision of real drums, metallic ambience, electronic processing, and groove-heavy guitar work.
Clean sections were removed as the arrangement moved toward what Suresh describes as a fusion of “man and machine.”
Influenced by metal, industrial electronics, funk, and philosophical thinkers including Alan Watts and J. Krishnamurti, Grihastha uses heaviness as a form of self-examination rather than surface aggression.
MACHiNE feels calculated and unstable at the same time: mechanical pressure with a very human conflict underneath.
