Tomorrow, Friday, September 25, composer, singer/songwriter and pianist Randy Edelman releases Green Park worldwide on Cherry Red Records. It is a record that feels less like an album than a letter, ten original songs written, performed and produced by Edelman and dedicated to a lifetime of memories in London, the city that has quietly held a piece of his heart for decades.
The world knows Randy Edelman through the sweep of his film scores, from The Last of the Mohicans, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination, to Dragonheart, Gettysburg, The Mask, My Cousin Vinny, Ghostbusters II and Kindergarten Cop. On Green Park, the lens turns inward. The same instinct for storytelling that gave those films their emotional heartbeat is here given to something more private: nostalgia, resilience, serenity and the fragile, necessary bonds between people. Recorded in Los Angeles and partly mixed at London’s Abbey Road Studios, the album features contributions from Trey Henry, Grant Geissman, Brian Scanlon, Susan Winsberg and Till Richter, a small circle of trusted collaborators who give Edelman’s songs the gentle space they ask for.
The album opens with its title track, “Green Park,” and at nearly seven minutes it is the longest piece on the record, as if Edelman simply could not bear to hurry through a place he loves. Named for one of London’s most cherished green spaces, it sets the tone for everything that follows: unhurried, reflective, and rich with the feeling of standing still in a familiar place while the years move quietly around you.
“After All the Madness” carries the weight of its title with grace, a song about what remains once the noise of life finally settles, and the quiet clarity that can only come afterward. It is followed by “Watching and Wishing,” one of the album’s more concise moments, a tender study in longing and hope, the view from the window rather than the street.

“Farewell to Down St.” is among the album’s most evocative titles, taking its name from the Mayfair street just off Piccadilly, a stone’s throw from Green Park itself. A goodbye to a place is always a goodbye to a version of ourselves, and Edelman lets that feeling breathe across five unhurried minutes. “Paranoid Partner” shifts the light, turning to the complicated terrain of relationships, where love and doubt so often share the same room.
At the emotional center of the record sits “12 Steps (Serenity Prayer).” In borrowing the language of one of the most quietly powerful prayers ever spoken, the song reaches toward acceptance, courage and the wisdom to know the difference. It is a gesture of compassion toward anyone who has ever had to begin again, and it may well be the song listeners carry with them longest.
“Flyin’ Blind,” the shortest track on the album, captures the exhilaration and uncertainty of moving forward without a map, while “Piano Please” feels like a small love letter to the instrument that has been Edelman’s lifelong companion and the voice behind so much of his work. “To Find You” follows, a song of searching and devotion that unfolds with patience across more than five minutes.
Fittingly, Edelman closes where he began. “Short Walk in Green Park” returns to the album’s namesake, bookending the collection with a final stroll through the same paths that opened it. The effect is quietly moving, the sense of a journey that has traveled far only to come home, and of a man looking back on a life in music with gratitude rather than regret.
Taken together, Green Park stands as one of the most intimate recordings of Edelman’s five-decade career, a warm and deeply personal collection that trades the grandeur of the big screen for the honesty of a single, remembered afternoon in the park.

The release opens a remarkable season for Edelman on stage as well as in the studio. He appears at the Triad Theater in New York on October 2 and 3, and on December 19 returns to Carnegie Hall for “American Original,” his third appearance at the storied venue, an evening of solo piano, voice and storytelling that mirrors the intimacy at the heart of Green Park.
Green Park is available worldwide beginning Friday, September 25, 2026, on CD and across all digital retailers and streaming platforms via Cherry Red Records. Listen at cherryred.co/EdelmanGreenPark.
