Yeah Yeah Noh are back with a new four-track 10-inch EP, The Big Thumb, released on 6 November through Precious Recordings of London.

The Leicester cult post-punk outfit return with their first new material since 2015, bringing together their trademark mixture of angular guitars, psychedelic pop, left-field humour and what they have long described as “unpop”.
The Big Thumb features four tracks: ‘Big Thumb’, ‘A Room Without A View’, ‘Identity As You’ and ‘CGI Friday’, and will be issued as a 10-inch vinyl release through Precious Recordings.
The band’s roots go back to the early 1980s, when they became one of the more distinctive groups to emerge from the UK post-punk underground. Along the way they recorded sessions for John Peel, released a run of highly regarded singles and EPs, and built a reputation for songs that were sharp, melodic, mischievous and impossible to neatly categorise.
Their back catalogue includes much-loved tracks such as ‘Cottage Industry’ and ‘Bias Binding’, while their records have long attracted a devoted following well beyond the band’s original lifespan.
The new EP follows Yeah Yeah Noh’s return to live activity and sees them once again pushing at the boundaries between punk, psychedelia and skewed pop.
A launch show is also planned for Club Precious #9 at The Waiting Room, Stoke Newington, London.
Pre-orders for The Big Thumb are open now, with the EP released on Friday 6 November.

A Plea From Louder Than War
Louder Than War is run by a small but dedicated independent team, and we rely on the small amount of money we generate to keep the site running smoothly. Any money we do get is not lining the pockets of oligarchs or mad-cap billionaires dictating what our journalists are allowed to think and write, or hungry shareholders. We know times are tough, and we want to continue bringing you news on the most interesting releases, the latest gigs and anything else that tickles our fancy. We are not driven by profit, just pure enthusiasm for a scene that each and every one of us is passionate about.
To us, music and culture are eveything, without them, our very souls shrivel and die. We do not charge artists for the exposure we give them and to many, what we do is absolutely vital. Subscribing to one of our paid tiers takes just a minute, and each sign-up makes a huge impact, helping to keep the flame of independent music burning! Please click the button below to help.
