Born Ja’Van Jerrod Chandler in Rockford, Illinois, just outside Chicago, Ja’Van’s artistic gifts emerged early. After relocating to Atlanta in 2014 to study Audio Production and Fashion Design at the Art Institute of Atlanta, he began building a career that would successfully bridge music, fashion, television, and film.
Musically, Ja’Van has become known for his ability to effortlessly navigate between soulful R&B and hip-hop-infused sounds while drawing inspiration from iconic artists such as Prince. His previous project, Boys Like Me, showcased his versatility through standout records including “Your Love,” “WIFM,” “MORE,” “The Realest,” “On My Way,” and “My Best.”
His momentum continued after signing his first major recording contract with Sony and VBOY Records in 2018, leading to multiple releases and expanding his audience nationwide.
Outside of music, Ja’Van has built an impressive reputation in the fashion industry. Through his company, Ja’Van Jerrod Stylez LLC, he has styled celebrities for VH1 productions and Love & Hip Hop, worked on film productions, and earned the prestigious Wardrobe Stylist of the Year award at the 2022 Boss Babe Awards. He also serves as executive producer, stylist, and cast member on the popular series Fashion Craze.
Together with his fiancé, celebrity makeup artist R. Guy, he co-founded the fashion brand Ja’Ro Amour, an androgynous luxury label inspired by music, love, and creative expression. Their acclaimed debut collection introduced audiences to a bold vision that continues to grow into a larger fashion, beauty, and lifestyle brand.
Ja’Van has also expanded into acting and content creation, making his feature film debut in Jacksquad 2 and producing original programming through his Love TV Network platform.
