DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH: JeRonelle feat. Sevndeep – BackRoom

JeRonelle Sevndeep BackRoomIn this new entry in our ‘Diamonds In The Rough’ category, we would like to introduce you to upcoming artist JeRonelle and his brand new single titled “BackRoom” featuring Sevndeep.

JeRonelle is opening the door to a bold new chapter of his artistry with “BackRoom,” the captivating first single from his upcoming sixth studio EP. Out now, the Los Angeles-based R&B artist delivers an energetic, early 2000s-inspired record that blends timeless R&B grooves with modern confidence, creating the perfect soundtrack for late nights, unexpected connections, and undeniable chemistry.

Built around a vibrant production from Liston, who also co-wrote the track, “BackRoom” captures the excitement of reconnecting with someone across a crowded house party. What begins as playful flirtation quickly transforms into an intimate moment away from the noise, as attraction takes over and the energy shifts from the dance floor to a more personal encounter. Inspired by real-life experiences, the song showcases a more fearless and self-assured side of JeRonelle, setting the tone for the next phase of his musical journey.

Adding another layer to the record, rising rapper SevnDeep joins JeRonelle with a standout guest verse that bridges the worlds of R&B and Hip-Hop. Their collaboration reflects the tradition of some of the most memorable R&B records of the early 2000s, where smooth vocal performances and sharp rap verses created a perfect balance between romance, rhythm, and attitude. Together, they bring a fresh perspective to a familiar sound, making “BackRoom” a track that feels both nostalgic and current.

With his signature powerhouse vocals, silky-smooth tone, and magnetic stage presence, JeRonelle continues to establish himself as one of the exciting voices of the new generation of R&B. His ability to combine emotional depth, polished delivery, and influences from Pop and gospel-inspired vocal traditions has helped him create a sound that feels authentic while pushing the genre forward.

Originally from Omaha, JeRonelle first gained national attention as a standout performer on the second season of FOX’s hit series “The Four,” where his commanding performances introduced his voice to audiences across the country. Since then, he has continued to build an impressive career, collaborating with major artists including Drake and Kanye West, earning recognition from respected platforms such as Billboard, BET, VIBE, Rated R&B, and Apple Music Radio with Ebro.

Beyond his recorded achievements, JeRonelle has also shared stages with acclaimed performers including Durand Bernarr and Daley, further cementing his reputation as an engaging live performer with a unique ability to connect with audiences.

“BackRoom” marks the beginning of an exciting new era for JeRonelle, with additional visual storytelling and an official music video set to expand the world surrounding the single in the coming weeks. Combining the warmth of classic R&B with a confident modern edge, JeRonelle proves once again why he remains an artist to watch.

With its infectious groove, undeniable chemistry, and nostalgic energy, “BackRoom” invites listeners to step inside JeRonelle’s next chapter.
