DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH: YG Kayboe – Blood On The Pen 3

YG Kayboe Blood On The Pen 3 mixtape streamIn this new entry in our ‘Diamonds In The Rough’ category, we would like to introduce you to upcoming artist YG Kayboe and his brand new mixtape titled Blood On The Pen 3.

Memphis hip-hop artist and songwriter YG Kayboe has officially released his highly anticipated new mixtape, Blood On The Pen 3, available now worldwide via One Take Records.

Serving as the long-awaited conclusion to his acclaimed Blood On The Pen 3 trilogy, the 14-track project is a deeply personal statement from one of Memphis’ most authentic emerging voices. Produced by fellow Memphis native Scott Coslett of Scientist Soundlabs and executively produced by David Fort and Zenii from the Gate, Blood On The Pen 3 captures the sacrifices, perseverance, and life lessons that have shaped YG Kayboe’s journey over the past seven years.

The project follows 2019’s *Blood On The Pen 2*, documenting a transformative period filled with personal victories, devastating setbacks, and an unwavering determination to keep pushing forward despite life’s uncertainties. Throughout the mixtape, YG Kayboe reflects on the reckless decisions of his youth while embracing growth, accountability, and resilience.

Built alongside a talented cast of Southern producers and songwriters, Blood On The Pen 3 serves as both a personal memoir and a love letter to the streets of Memphis. The city’s influence is woven throughout every track, from its soulful storytelling to its unmistakable Southern production style.

Sonically, the mixtape blends chopped soul samples, gritty funk grooves, and blues-infused textures that create the perfect backdrop for YG Kayboe’s commanding delivery. His intense yet controlled flow cuts through each record with conviction, offering listeners an experience that feels both deeply reflective and undeniably anthemic. The result is a project that embodies the spirit of summer; made for late-night drives, windows down, and moments of self-reflection.

Standout collaborations include Memphis heavyweight Finesse2Tymes on “By The Way,” producer and artist Hitkidd on the heartfelt “Mama’s Song,” and Ace Boogie on the introspective “Battle With This.” Together, these features help elevate a project already rich with authenticity and emotional depth.

Hailing from Memphis, Tennessee, YG Kayboe has steadily built a reputation as one of the city’s most compelling independent artists. His rise began when a freestyle video recorded in a car unexpectedly went viral on Facebook, introducing audiences to his natural charisma, lyrical ability, and undeniable authenticity. Since then, he has continued to develop a sound that seamlessly blends traditional Southern rap sensibilities with modern influences, earning recognition as the “Freestyle King of Memphis.”

Known for tackling personal struggles, street realities, and social issues with unfiltered honesty, YG Kayboe’s music resonates with listeners seeking substance alongside hard-hitting production. Blood On The Pen 3 further solidifies that reputation, delivering some of his most focused, vulnerable, and mature work to date.

With the trilogy now complete, Blood On The Pen 3 stands as both a culmination of YG Kayboe’s artistic evolution and a bold statement of where he’s headed next. Raw, reflective, and unmistakably Memphis, the mixtape is a testament to an artist who continues to turn life’s trials into powerful music.

Blood On The Pen 3 is available now on Spotify, Apple Music, and all major streaming platforms worldwide.
