The follow-up to 2025’s Talkin’ To The Trees comprises seven tracks, including five newly written songs alongside fresh recordings of two compositions dating back to Young’s earliest days as a songwriter. The album was recorded at Rick Rubin’s Shangri-La Studios in Malibu, California, with Young joined once again by The Chrome Hearts: Anthony LoGerfo (drums), Corey McCormick (bass), Micah Nelson (guitar) and Spooner Oldham (keyboards).
Among the album’s most intriguing inclusions are “Casting Me Away From You” and “I’ll Love You Forever”, both originally written in the mid-1960s. Familiar to dedicated Neil Young fans through the Archives series, the songs have been reimagined for Second Song alongside material written earlier this year.
