Here's what's happening beyond the music at the inaugural Sick New World Texas

Sick New World has confirmed details of the activities available for fans to experience away from the music at this year’s Fort Worth event.

The event is coming to Texas Motor Speedway for the first time on Saturday, October 24, following up its third edition at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds in April. It’s the first time the fest has come to a city outside of Vegas, and the first time it’s taken place twice in the same year.

As ever, its lineup is looking properly stacked, featuring 50 acts across four stages, including everyone from System Of A Down and Deftones to Evanescence and The Prodigy, as well as a special set from Slayer celebrating the 40th anniversary of Reign In Blood. There’s a mix of genres to suit every heavy music fan, including hardcore, metal, darkwave, and loads more, building on line-ups from previous years in Vegas that have featured everyone from Korn and Bring Me The Horizon to Slipknot and Sleep Token.

Of course, with so many bands to watch all day, there’s points where you’re bound to need a pit stop. Luckily, Sick New World has got that covered and then some, with a wealth of options to kick back and relax or simply refuel before you dive head first into yet another mosh pit.

Fancy some shopping between sets? The Branding Bar gives you the opportunity to customise your own hats, belts, and leather goods, while pet owners can peruse items from Jonathan Davis’ pet brand Freak On A Leash. Slayer’s Reign in Chaos collection, in partnership with Civil Regime, will also be on display, alongside an “older brother’s bedroom” installation, and a corpse makeup stall manned by renowned makeup and mask artist Missy.

VIPs can access the Tattoo Shop for a permanent (and complimentary) reminder of their Sick New World memories, while The Last Stop is open for business in case any festival essentials get left behind at home.

Elsewhere, there’s plenty of other experiences available, such as the Rockstar Energy Compound, featuring live skateboard demos, a karaoke stage, custom giveaways, and of course, ice-cold Rockstar Energy cans. Confess your sins and snap some photos at the Confessional, while at the Hideaway… well, we can’t give that away, we promised to keep it secret. Looks like you’ll just have to just find out for yourself…

Inevitably set to put on one of the talked-about shows of the weekend, System Of A Down’s presence at Sick New World goes beyond the music. Fans can check out the Toxicity Vault, a curated gallery celebrating 25 years of System Of A Down’s landmark album with memorabilia, one-of-a-kind pieces, interactive photo ops. Serj Tankian’s coffee brand Kavat Coffee will also be keeping you caffeinated throughout the day, and they’re also offering a new Banana Terracotta Latte to try.

For those craving something boozier, there’s loads to choose from. Available at all festival bars is Deftones’ very own IPA, Phantom Bride, made in collaboration with Belching Beaver. Aguasol Tequila and White Claw have designated areas in the festival grounds, while the Lil Sins Saloon is a Texas-style dive bar made for sipping and chilling.

Sick New World is also here to help you take care of yourself on the day of the festival. Electrolit are providing hydration shots to keep you on your feet and feeling good all day, while Eargasm are providing high fidelity earplugs to keep your hearing in working order. Yerba Madre’s also on hand, slinging ready-to-drink yerba mate throughout the festival.

All of this, plus loads of great bands, await at Sick New World Texas. There’s only one place to be next weekend…
