As it is with Kulk, the Norwich noise-doom duo whose prior works have been as cacophonic and messy as the modern world. Now part of the esteemed Church Road stable, Choosing To Die once again laps at those hellacious shores in relentless manner.
An Endless Knife opens as an examination of fleeting youth, that feeling of being invincible and frittering away time with loved ones rather than looking after one another. It’s frantic, it’s pounding, and it’s best enjoyed at full volume, allowing their assault to envelop the senses.
We’re Worried About You is all squealing guitars and gnashed vocals from Thom Longdin, while Ashleigh Squires’ barbaric drumming lays a diabolical bedrock. Being Forgotten, For Blood and The Saddest Holiday follow the same sort of formula that keeps Choosing To Die rolling through its 26-or-so minutes at a frenetic pace.
