mmj shares beautiful debut single nobody knows – Soundsphere magazine

Today mmj, also known mj from Purity Ring has released ‘nobody knows’ – the beautiful debut single centered around mj’s distinctly crystalline voice, hypnotic, shuffling drums and theremin, available now via Captured Tracks.

The release of “nobody knows” comes with a video directed by Jordan Hare, filmed in Death Valley, CA during the super bloom.

mj shares: “‘nobody knows’ is close to the sun for me. It resonates a little differently every time I play it. The opening line is: ‘nobody knows a fallen star from wildfire ash raining down on the yard.’ It presents the ways we know so little, but also the things we deny and can see if we choose to, and what we should see and be in order to survive in this place; what we deserve to have and be as individuals and collectively. ‘nobody knows’ is circular, a fractal glimpse of humanity in the span of a song. I hope you feel it.”

The release follows a special solo tour from mmj this month, including a special performance opening for her very own Purity Ring
