New York indie band Glimmer have returned with their first new material since last year’s debut album Get Weak, unveiling the hazy, sun-drenched single ‘Someday Sunshine’.

Arriving alongside a new video, the track leans into a softer, more dream-pop-influenced direction for the band, while still retaining the fuzzed-out guitars and driving rhythmic pulse that defined their earlier releases. The result is a more spacious and atmospheric sound, built around swirling guitar layers and melancholic vocals that evoke the blurred nostalgia of long summer days.
‘Someday Sunshine’ marks a subtle but noticeable evolution in Glimmer’s sonic identity. Where previous singles leaned into grungier textures and heavier distortion, the new track opens up their palette, allowing warmth and airiness to sit alongside their familiar intensity.
The band’s debut LP Get Weak, released last October, established them as an emerging force in the US underground scene, blending shoegaze textures with post-punk urgency. Since then, Glimmer have spent much of the past year on the road, touring extensively across both the US and Europe.
That momentum continues this summer, with a packed run of dates beginning in North America before heading across Europe and the UK in July. The band will kick things off in New York City at TV Eye before joining Telepathic Windows Fest in Washington, DC.
Their European leg includes stops in cities such as Rome, Berlin, Amsterdam, and Paris, alongside a UK run that features a London date at The Shacklewell Arms, followed by shows in Northampton, Norwich and Bristol.
Having built a reputation through relentless touring and a steadily evolving sound, Glimmer’s latest release suggests a band increasingly confident in expanding their sonic range without losing the raw emotional core that underpins their work.
