edbl ft: Ady Suleiman & Dan Whitlam – When You Were Mine (Single)

Producer, beat maker and multi instrumentalist edbl returns with new single ‘When You Were Mine’, teaming up with acclaimed soul singer Ady Suleiman and South London poet and spoken word artist Dan Whitlam. Out now, the track offers the first taste of edbl’s forthcoming debut album Feels Right.

Built around edbl’s warm, jazz infused production, ‘When You Were Mine’ explores the lingering feelings that remain when someone you still love has moved on. Suleiman brings a soulful vulnerability to the track before Whitlam delivers an introspective spoken word finale, capturing the regret, nostalgia and eventual acceptance at the heart of the song.

The collaboration also draws on a friendship stretching back more than 15 years, with edbl and Suleiman first meeting at university in 2010 before living and making music together in Liverpool and London. “Making music with total strangers can be really fun, but making music with people you already love and vibe with is the absolute best,” says edbl. “I’d like to think that synergy comes across on this record.”

With more than 150 million streams and collaborations with over 100 artists already under his belt, ‘When You Were Mine’ marks the beginning of a new chapter for edbl as he prepares to unveil Feels Right.
