In this new entry in our ‘Diamonds In The Rough’ category, we would like to introduce you to upcoming artist A!MS and his brand new single titled “Don’t Die” featuring Dappy.
British-Cypriot artist A!MS brings together the streets of London and the energy of Ayia Napa on his new single “Don’t Die,” featuring UK rap heavyweight Dappy. The track serves as the lead single from Peak Season – Deluxe, arriving August 28, and offers a vivid introduction to A!MS’s boundary-crossing sound, which he describes as “Global Street.”
Blending UK rap with dancehall, Afro-inspired rhythms, and Mediterranean influences, “Don’t Die” reflects the environments that have shaped A!MS throughout his career. Having spent much of his life between London and Cyprus, A!MS has built a distinctive musical identity that connects British street culture with Caribbean, African, and Mediterranean sounds.
A!MS first emerged through the orbit of So Solid Crew before choosing a more independent path and relocating much of his creative focus to Cyprus. From there, he developed an international network that has seen him collaborate with an impressive roster of artists and producers, including Cool & Dre, Wiley, The Game, Julian Marley, ArrDee, Ramz, Projexx, and Dappy.
The story behind “Don’t Die” adds another layer to the release. Back in 2015, Chris Brown spray-painted the words “Don’t Die” inside Ayia Napa’s Club Black N’ White, a venue that became a notable meeting point for UK garage and hip-hop artists, DJs, broadcasters, and British holidaymakers. Years later, A!MS rediscovered the mural after he and Dappy had already recorded a track carrying the same title. The image ultimately became the artwork for the single, creating a striking connection between Ayia Napa’s musical history and A!MS’s present-day journey.
Lyrically and thematically, “Don’t Die” centers on loyalty, survival, and the people and principles that endure through changing circumstances. Dappy’s presence adds further UK rap weight to a track that feels deeply connected to both artists’ worlds.
The wider Peak Season – Deluxe project expands A!MS’s international approach even further, featuring collaborations with Vanesse Bling, Tugga War, Cool & Dre, Michelin Shin, Ivorian Doll, Alika, Julian Marley, ArrDee, and Ramz. Together, the project reflects an artist who has turned his position between cultures into a creative advantage.
With “Don’t Die” leading the way, A!MS continues to demonstrate what “Global Street” can sound like: rooted in London, shaped by Cyprus, and open to influences from across the world.
