Former Every Time I Die guitarist Andy Williams, who balanced careers in both music and wrestling, has died at the age of 48.
Andy, who wrestled professionally as The Butcher, collapsed after a match during a wrestling event near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania last night (September 5). He received medical assistance, including CPR, straight afterwards from the on-site medical team until an ambulance arrived. The show was then promptly cancelled.
After the incident, his former ETID bandmate Jordan Buckley posted on X, ‘If you’re the praying type please pray for Andy tonight.’
Andy helped to found Every Time I Die back in 1998 and remained a member of the band until their fractious break-up in 2022, and for the last seven years of their lifetime he was also working as a professional wrestler. While Jordan and fellow ETID members Steve Micciche and Clayton ‘Goose’ Holyoak went on to form Better Lovers and vocalist Keith Buckley founded Many Eyes, Andy formed a new project called Atomic Rule and continued wrestling. Atomic Rule released their first music last year.
