Lamb Of God are bringing their now-legendary Headbangers Boat cruise to the UK and Europe for the very first time.
Setting sail in May 2028, the metal titans will be taking fans from Southampton Docks to Spain’s La Coruña, which is the gateway to the rocky shores of the Costa da Morte, AKA the Coast of Death. They’ll be joined onboard the fancy Norwegian Jewel by Paleface Swiss, Kublai Khan TX, Shadows Fall, Heriot and Bleed From Within, with many more bands still to be announced.
During the four-day cruise, Lamb Of God will also be curating a range of extra-curricular activities if you fancy a break from poolside mosh pits. Art Cruz will take to the decks for one of his famed “Heavy In The Mix” DJ sets, John Campbell is hosting a poker tournament and Randy Blythe will take part in an in-depth conversation and Q&A event.
“The whole idea is to give people a good time,” Randy tells Kerrang! shortly before setting sail on this year’s Headbangers Boat, which travels from Miami to the Bahamas this weekend. “People can expect to come out, relax, have a good time, make some friends and see a bunch of good music. It’s like going to a festival where you have your own room and you don’t have to wait in line to use some disgusting public toilet. It’s going to be fun in the sun.”
“And, to be honest, we’re all ready for a Halloween off after this year,” he continues. “Some of the guys have got to take their kids trick or treating.”
After four years in Miami, how are you feeling about bringing the Headbangers Boat to Europe for the very first time?
“It’s going to be interesting. This is the fourth year in a row we’ve done it in the States and it’s been really good. Bringing it to Europe is cool because it is prohibitively expensive for most people to travel all the way across the Atlantic to come and hang out, so it’ll be nice to give those fans a chance to come and have a little fun.
“We’re hoping to bring some more European and UK bands onboard too. We’ve had a few on previous cruises but it’s usually contingent on them already touring the U.S. So, if we can leave from over there, it makes it possible for some more bands from the continent to get involved. We’re a part of a global scene, and there’s lots of bands from different countries we’d love to get involved.”
