Movements release devastating new single Separate

Movements have shared the heavy-hearted closing song from their forthcoming album Happier Now, which is titled Separate.

It’s the fourth single to be taken from the album, following Dissolve Me, Everything Is Fine and Back in My Ways.

Listeners might notice the album title appears within the lyrics of the song, which, as vocalist Patrick Miranda explains, was all for a purpose.

“The album title is a little tongue-and-cheek because if you actually read the lyrics, it’s a pretty dark record and I think that’s what a lot of people want from Movements,” he says. “Happier Now is an extremely personal record and when I started to write the lyrics for these songs, I realised maybe I wasn’t doing as well as I thought I was doing. I’m in an objectively better place than I used to be, but when you struggle with depression, that never fully goes away.”
