Purple Disco Machine Celebrates Ibizas Disco Legacy With Disco Cherry – Electric Mode

Disco figurehead Purple Disco Machine celebrates his return to the White Isle and forthcoming Pure Ibiza residency with the release of the appropriately titled ‘Disco Cherry’. Drawing on the elegant, unmistakable energy of the legendary Ibiza nightclub, the Grammy Award winner delivers a historic first – a release dedicated to a Pacha residency.

Sampling the 80s Italo-disco classic ‘Walkman’ from Kasso, the track embodies Pure Pacha’s feel-good mantra and instantly captures that effervescent feeling of confidently strolling through the streets of Ibiza. Layered with irresistible energy and punctuated with a subtle but effective call to ‘party’ weaved throughout the mix, Purple Disco Machine effortlessly carries listeners onto the dancefloor. Through driving rolling drums and that signature funk flair, the multi-Platinum award winner melds production precision with timeless emotion in a way that only Purple Disco Machine can. The Dresden-born producer has once again assertively stepped into his role as disco’s modern-day ambassador, with this release serving as the cherry on top of a stunning 13-night residency that is set to bring disco back to the island every Thursday.

Accompanying the release is the equally spectacular film clip, featuring Purple Disco Machine behind the decks, orchestrating the greatest disco night that never happened! Set at an unspecified date in the late 1970s or early 80’s and drawing on genuine imagery from early parties in Pacha’s beginnings, the German DJ is captured delivering dancefloor magic in an era where all strains of disco dominated the global dance floor. The film encapsulates a moment in time when Ibiza, and Pacha particularly, became a refuge for free spirits and people from all walks of life, shaped by a culture of openness and self-expression.

With over 3 billion streams, a collection of Diamond Awards, and a remix legacy that has seen him awarded a Grammy, Tino Piontek has cemented his position as one of the world’s leading producers. Born and raised in East Germany, Purple Disco Machine’s sound was forged on the dancefloors of underground clubs, eventually evolving into an internationally recognized brand known for blending vintage disco grooves with contemporary dancefloor energy. Hits such as ‘Hypnotized’, ‘Substitution’, and ‘In The Dark’ have propelled him to the top of charts across the globe and reinforced his place as a radio staple. However, Purple Disco Machine has built a legacy that goes much further than chart success, releasing three critically acclaimed albums, ‘Soulmatic’, ‘Exotica’, and ‘Paradise’, and curating meaningful collaborations with names such as Nile Rodgers, Sophie and the Giants, Aloe Blacc, and Jake Shears among many others. Keeping with his dancefloor roots, the nu-Disco stalwart has also maintained his reputation as a DJ’s DJ ranked as the #2 best-selling Beatport artist of all time. His aptitude for taking global hits and reimagining them for the dancefloor is evident in remixes for the likes of Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, Elton John, Britney Spears, and an aforementioned Grammy Award for his remix of Lizzo’s ‘About Damn Time’. Purple Disco Machine is a live brand that connects generations at festivals such as Coachella, Tomorrowland, Pal Norte, many Prides around the globe and his previous full band headline tour across Europe and America. A timeless artist who has bridged generations and audiences, he continues to dedicate himself to the disco-dancefloor with a summer-long residency at Pacha Ibiza.

Purple Disco Machine’s ‘Disco Cherry’ is out now and is available to stream and purchase here.
