D.J.S, the collective formed by Dymos, Jay Fase and Shizzo, are stepping into an exciting new chapter with the release of ‘One of Those Nights’ on Unreleased Records. Blending melodic house, tribal rhythms and groove driven energy, the trio have quickly built a reputation for creating immersive musical experiences both in the studio and on stage.
Already earning early support from influential names including Black Coffee, Claptone and Ilario Alicante, ‘One of Those Nights’ arrives as a strong statement of intent. Dreamy, hypnotic and emotionally charged, the release captures the essence of D.J.S and marks the beginning of what promises to be a major new force in electronic music.
To start at the beginning, how did D.J.S first come together as a project, and what made the three of you want to build something collectively rather than keep things separate?
4 years ago a friend introduced us together saying that we should collaborate because our music will match perfectly. After a long phone call we played a B2B2B set at our ODYS event. It went viral directly. Since then, we started playing most of the time the 3 together and also time in the studio to build our own sound.
You’ve each carved out your own identity individually, so what do you feel each person brings into the D.J.S world — sonically, creatively and energy-wise?
Dymos is the entrepreneur, the one who is digging to help us grow, chasing for gigs, investments, business mindset.
Jay Fase is the artist, the one behind the machine with talent, who brings every idea from the trio to life in our music.
Shizzo is the coordinator, the one who makes sure everything is handled correctly, administration, accounting and transforms as a performer on stage.
‘Those Nights’ is your debut release on Unreleased Records. What made this track feel like the right one to introduce the project on the label?
The reaction of the crowd while playing it on our sets. For two years, we received so much compliments, love messages, deep feelings, and demands about the track that there was no doubt that it was the right one to introduce the D.J.S project.
How did the production process work between the three of you on this one? Was it a case of building the track together in the studio, sending ideas back and forth, or does each person naturally fall into certain roles?
It was literally one of those nights…
Usually, between the three of us, the process is very natural. We start from ideas, emotions, grooves, then we send things back and forth: drums, bassline, melodies, instruments, arrangement, mixing… everyone brings his own touch and energy until the track finds its shape.
But with ‘One Of Those Nights’, it felt different. The idea came very fast, almost like it was already there waiting for us. I was going through a very special moment in my life, something emotionally strong, and I think the track was born directly from that feeling.
It wasn’t a track we had to overthink or force. The emotion was already in the room. We just followed it, protected it, and tried not to ruin the magic. Sometimes you build a track piece by piece, and sometimes the track just happens. This one was definitely the second case.
The record has already picked up support from artists like Black Coffee, Claptone and Ilario Alicante ahead of release. How does it feel seeing a track connect with names like that before it’s even officially out?
It makes us proud, these names are huge references in the industry. It also convinces us that we are working in a good direction. Can’t wait to see them playing it by our eyes at one of their events this summer.
You describe the D.J.S sound through melodic house, tribal influences and groove-led energy. Which musical references or scenes have had the biggest influence on the project so far?
We try to build our own proper sound, we don’t want to sound similar to others. But to answer the question let’s say a mix between Bedouin, Adriatique and Luciano
You’re also the force behind ODYS, which feels like more than just an event series. How much does building those immersive experiences feed back into the music you make as D.J.S?
Founder and co-founder, we are ODYS Resident DJ. There is a real demand and expectation from the audience for us. I think we’ve spoiled them with too much good music quality (jocking lol). It provides us with a big motivation to make the best set each time so as not to disappoint them.
ODYS events always have a theme that 95% participants follow with some beautiful costumes. It is the best place for us to test our new music and see the reaction of the crowd on it.
As a trio, how do you handle creative disagreements in the studio? Is there usually one person pushing for the club angle, one for the emotion, one for the detail, or does it change every time?
Fighting… lol 😂

Our remix of Radiohead ‘Everything in its right place’ unreleased yet.
You’ve got a busy summer ahead with shows at Untold Festival, multiple Ibiza dates & more. How does the live environment influence what comes next in the studio, are you already road-testing ideas for future D.J.S releases?
Oh yes!!! We have a bunch of tracks ready. We are testing them on our gigs to feel the impact.
Live environments influence us by the impact a track can give to the crowd, could be a unique sound of a drum, chords, voices or guitar.
We can start a new track just after a gig as an after to transmit directly the energy, the emotion received from the gig on a new song.
Finally, with ‘Those Nights’ now out in the world and the D.J.S project gathering momentum, what can people expect from this next chapter?
‘One Of Those Nights’ is the beginning of a long journey, we have been working hard on production, we have a huge catalog/album to share to the world.
We have a next release coming out in July with the label Tortuga of Sparrow named ‘Coming Home’ and this will be followed by the launching of our own label ‘Intensity records’ who will help to release with a higher frequency our tracks and tracks from other talents.
With ‘One of Those Nights’ now out in the world, D.J.S are only just getting started. Backed by a growing catalogue of unreleased music, major festival appearances and an ambitious vision for the future, the trio are building something far bigger than a traditional artist project. As they continue to shape their sound and expand their reach, D.J.S are proving that this collective is driven by more than momentum. It is built on connection, emotion and a shared passion for pushing electronic music forward. If this debut is any indication, their next chapter is set to be an exciting one.
