Originally from New York state in the USA, Ape Uprise grew up in Orlando, Florida, and has lived in the Seattle area for the past decade. He began making music shortly after his daughter was born, motivated by the desire to leave her a meaningful legacy beyond material things. His influences include Chris Lake, Deadmau5, Fisher, and Faithless, blending roots in house, dance, and hip-hop.
The artist’s style resists strict genre boundaries, focusing instead on music that speaks to shared human struggles and the common ground that unites people.
