Sarah Meth Lets Go With Wry Devastation On Horses

Sarah Meth Lets Go With Wry Devastation On Horses

London-born artist, producer and songwriter Sarah Meth returns with Horses, a tender single shaped by queer heartbreak, release, and the acceptance that some people cannot be held.

Drawing from Karen Dalton, Air, Nina Simone, and Alex G, Meth keeps it intimate, dryly funny, and emotionally exposed without overplaying the damage.

The song uses the image of an untameable animal to frame a relationship that cannot be controlled into working. Meth explains:

‘Horses‘ is ultimately a song about having to let people go…You can try to train and tame a horse, but they’re wild animals at heart and perhaps better off left that way.

She also describes it as a song about her first queer romance and heartbreak, adding:

    because horses are sapphic, obviously.

    Fair. No notes.

Following SXSW 2026, Green Man Rising finalist recognition, and appearances at End of the Road, All Points East, Latitude, and Into The Great Wide Open, Horses keeps Meth’s world sharp: vulnerable, funny, bruised, and very much on purpose.
